1936
The ski circuit on the Lenzerheide commenced with the commissioning of the “Funibahn” sleigh lift from Val Sporz to Tgantieni. Offering space for 16 people and capable of transporting less than 100 people per hour, this provided the impetus for the fledgling winter tourism industry in the region.
1942
Foundation of Schnell-Lifte und Sesselbahn Tgantieni-Piz Scalottas AG following construction of the Scalottas and Tgantieni ski lifts.
1946
Following the construction of the Tgantieni chair lift, the “Funibahn” sleigh lift was re-located to Valbella, thus laying the foundations for the formation of Stätzerhorn Ski- und Sessellift AG, which would be responsible for developing the ski resorts in Stätzerhorn and Pradaschier von Churwalden in the coming years.
1962
Luftseilbahn Parpaner Rothorn AG was formed on the eastern side, and ski operations commenced during the winter of 1963.
1968
Stätzerhorn Ski- und Sessellift AG merged with Skilifte Parpan AG, who was responsible for operating the Sartons and Heimberg lifts.
1969
Merger of Rothornbahn with Schnell-Lifte und Sesselbahn Tgantieni-Piz Scalottas AG, creating Rothornbahn und Scalottas AG. The new company was the only one to operate facilities on both the eastern side as well as the western side.
1972
Formation of Sportbahnen Danis AG, thus closing the gap between the resorts of Scalottas and Stätzerhorn. First tariff association Stätzerhorn und Danis AG.
1976
Expansion of tariff association with introduction of season tickets and day passes, as well as combi tickets which could be varied by guests according to their wishes.
1986
The actual transport association ticket was launched. There was now a ski pass for the entire region, the individual ski resorts could be experienced using a single ticket, a cooperation agreement was put in place with each of the mountain railways and the introduction of electronic data collection devices helped govern the distribution of income.
1999
After Stätzerhorn AG decided to close the Pradaschier ski lift, a local interest group took over the operation of the Pradaschier and Windegga facilities and formed Pradaschier AG. At the same time, the Heimberg lift was sold to Rothornbahn und Scalottas AG.
2001
Merger of Sportbahnen Danis AG and Stätzerhorn Skilifte AG, creating Lenzerheide Bergbahnen Danis Stätz AG.
2005
Merger of Lenzerheide Bergbahnen Danis Stätz AG and Rothornbahn & Scalottas AG, creating Lenzerheide Bergbahnen AG. The new company is one of the largest mountain railways in Graubünden with assets of approx. CHF 100 million and share capital of CHF 7,763,156, generating operating income of approximately CHF 36 million.
2013
Both of the Lenzerheide and Arosa ski resorts were combined together. This created the largest joined-up ski resort in Graubünden. With 225 kilometres of slopes in total, Arosa Lenzerheide is one of the top 10 sites in Switzerland.
