5 June 2018
This year’s MTB Business Forum will take place on Friday, 7 September 2018 in Lenzerheide during of the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships. This year the Forum, which is still in its early years, will primarily deal with the future of bike events. New event formats and technology trends will be presented during panel discussions and presentations.

The MTB Business Forum in Lenzerheide was launched two years ago within the scope of the Mountain Bike World Cup events. Focusing on professional and recreational sports, events, marketing, entertainment and lifestyle, the organisers want to present and discuss the opportunities and possibilities of mountain biking in as versatile a manner as possible. This year the industry event will take place during the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships on Friday, 7 September 2018.

This year, the diverse programme of the MTB Business Forum is dedicated to the topic of «Disruption or evolution? Does the sport of mountain biking need new event formats?» It will discuss the future of major participant events, such as the National Park Bike Marathon or the Swiss Epic, introduce technology trends such as live tracking and the use of social media, and debate event formats such as the Pump Track World Championship or the E-MTB Race. The list of speakers and panel members includes famous names from both national and international sports, for example Roland Anderegg (Tourismus Denkfabrik), Claudio Caluori (Velosolutions), Claus Fleischer (Bosch eBike), Georg Spazier (Crankworx Innsbruck), Joko Vogel (Swiss Epic), and Greta Weithaler (former XC athlete).

The Forum is a joint venture between the Bike World Cup Lenzerheide Association (Verein Bike Weltcup Lenzerheide), the ESB Marketing Network (ESB Marketing Netzwerk) and Chur University of Applied Sciences (HTW Chur). It is primarily addressed to representatives of sports associations, event organisers, athletes, sponsors, marketers and media representatives, but is also accessible to interested private individuals. You can register for the Forum at lenzerheide2018.com.
