From the end of October on Arosa Lenzerheide offers numerous autumn and winter activities. As soon as snow conditions permit, slopes on the Hörnli hill will be prepared and ready for skiers and snowboarders to carve their first tracks. Hiking and biking trails which are not covered by snow will still be open. The Arosa Bear Sanctuary will be open on weekends and depending on weather conditions the golf course Arosa will also still be in operation (holes 1-9).

EAGERLY ANTICIPATING THE WINTER SEASON

Skiing, hiking, cross-country skiing, golfing, bear watching and enjoying views – this is the winter sports area
Arosa Lenzerheide starting from the month of November. The Arosa-Weisshorn aerial cableway is in operation every weekend during the November high. Mountainbikes are transported as long as the conditions at Weisshorn allow. The Hörnli-Express gondola will be opened as soon as skiing is possible.

OPERATING HOURS IN NOVEMBER 2018

Aerial cableway Arosa - Weisshorn section 1 and 2:
The aerial cableway of the 1st and 2nd sections is open from 26 October to 24 November. Weekends from 9.00 to 17.00 hours for pedestrians in operation. The travel times are the same as in summer: 1st section from 9.00 to 17.00 / 2nd section from 9.10 to 17.10. Bikes can be transported until there is snow.

Gondola lift Hörnli-Express and chair lift Hörnli:
Operation will commence on weekends as soon as ski operation is possible. If ski operation is not possible, the Hörnli remains closed (also for hikers or bikers). Operating times gondola Hörnli-Express 8.45 - 16.30 hrs and last descent from 16.45 hrs Operating hours chair lift Hörnli 9.00 - 16.00 o'clock

NOVEMBER HIGH DAY TICKETS 

Here you will find the prices for the November peak 2019, which are charged when buying a ticket at the sales points of the mountain railways. Online you get the tickets (for skiing and snowboarding) 6% cheaper.

Identification obligation: as a guest you are required to possess a skiing pass according to your age category. You are obliged to prove your identity with an official document. Ticket controls are regularly conducted and misuse will result in fines of up to CHF 500.-.

GUEST BBQ
On Saturday, 9 November, the annual guest barbecue takes place. Arosa Tourism and VivArosa cordially invite you to attend the information event from 4 pm and then enjoy the rich aperitif from 5.30 pm. The guest barbecue lasts until around 7 pm. Location and details will be announced here within the next weeks.

BEHIND THE SCENES TOUR AROSA CABLE CAR COMPANY
How does technical snowmaking work? At what temperatures is it possible to snow? On Saturday 16 November 2019, Arosa Bergbahnen AG will be holding an information event on the subject of technical snowmaking and slope preparation on the occasion of the November high.

SUMMIT BRUNCH ON THE WEISSHORN
Every Sunday from the first gondola ride until 11 am there is a brunch buffet in the 360° panorama restaurant at 2653 metres above sea level.
Price for the rich breakfast:
Adults CHF 28.00 (from 18 years)
Youth CHF 18.00 (from 13 years)
Children CHF 13.00 (from 6 years)
Children up to the age of 5 pay CHF 1.00 per year directly in the restaurant.

Ski Tests at the Hörnli
In November there will be weekend ski tests on the Hörnli with the latest models of the season. The skis are provided by sports shops in Arosa. 1 day Skitest costs CHF 30.00. If you buy skis after the test in one of the sports shops, you get CHF 30.00 discount. No advance reservation necessary.

BRACK.CH FIS ski race at Hörnli
On 20 & 21 November 2019 (postponed 22 November) the BRACK.CH FIS ski races will again take place at Hörnli. The women will start during the two days in the giant slalom discipline. There are no men at the start. The BRACK.CH FIS races are alpine skiing competitions at the highest national level. In order to participate in the European Cup, the World Cup or the World Championships a certain number of FIS points is required. These points can be collected at the BRACK.CH FIS races. For young licensed athletes, the BRACK.CH FIS races are the most important competitions to establish themselves internationally.

Arosa Bear sanctuary during the november high

Opening Hours
The Arosa Bärenland is open from 9 am to 5.40 pm on weekends.

Bears and their hibernation
If the bears are already in hibernation on the dates listed, the Arosa Bear Sanctuary will remain closed.

Catering & Restaurants
The 360° Panoramarestaurant Weisshorngipfel is open on the mountain (weekends only). The Brüggerstuba at the middle station remains closed. You will find further gastronomic possibilities in the Prätschli region, Innerarosa or in the village. The WC facilities at the middle station are open to the public at all times during the Arosa Bear Sanctuary opening hours (even if the Brüggerstuba Restaurant is closed).

Mountain railway operation Arosa-Weisshorn aerial cableway
The Arosa-Weisshorn cable car is open on weekends during the November high season. From Monday to Friday there is no railway operation with the Arosa-Weisshorn aerial cableway.

CROSS-COUNTRY IN NOVEMBER

The cross-country ski runs in the Isel are prepared for the November High. As soon as cross-country skiing is possible, this will be communicated here. You can find all the information about cross-country skiing in Arosa on the cross-country skiing page.

GOLF AFTER THE SUMMER SEASON

The Golf Club Arosa office officially closes after the summer season (mid of October 2019). The golf course (holes 1-9) however, is still open given there is no snow or frost. For green-fee players there will be a box with pay-in slips. The driving range will remain closed.
