Alpen Challenge Lenzerheide

Europe's most beautiful bike marathon, June 14th 2020

The 21st edition of the Alpen Challenge scheduled for 14 June 2020 is cancelled. «We have waited really long with the cancellation and could certainly wait a few more days. But at some point we need planning security. And the question is: how small is the chance of the Alpen Challenge Lenzerheide being held in any form that we can still hold on to it? That is why we have decided with a heavy heart to cancel the event,» says Stefan Schwenke, OC Director of the Alpen Challenge. «At the moment, however, it is impossible to imagine the Alpen Challenge taking place in any form whatsoever.»

The next Alpen Challenge Lenzerheide is scheduled for 13 June 2021.

The 116.1 and 190.6 kilometre long courses of the Alpen Challenge Lenzerheide lead over the most beautiful passes in Graubünden and are among the most demanding races in the Alps. The choice of which lap to ride can be made during the race. Depending on the decision, the Albula and Julier Passes or the Albula, Maloja and Splügen Passes will be used. The two routes with spectacular views, challenging climbs and breathtaking descents are the ultimate for ambitious cyclists and Gümmeler and with their views of the Upper Engadine lakes, the rapid descent from the Maloja Pass, the beautiful ride through the Bergell and the unique Viamala Gorge a «Best Of Alps».
