World Cup competitions in the Roland Arena for the first time
In mid-November last year, the Swiss-Ski bid with Lenzerheide won the bid to host the 2025 Biathlon World Championships. Just three months later, the sport of biathlon in Switzerland has reached another milestone. The Roland Arena in Lantsch/Lenz will host World Cup competitions for the first time in the 2023/24 season (December 2023).

IBU Open European Championships
In the season before (January 2023), the IBU Open European Championships (OECH) will also be held at the same venue.

Growing importance of the Roland Arena
Since the opening of the shooting range in 2013, the Lenzerheide site has regularly bid through Swiss-Ski for national and international biathlon competitions of growing importance. The organisation of the IBU Youth & Junior World Championships Biathlon in January 2020 was the most important milestone on the way to the big goal of bringing the World Cup to Switzerland. In the 2013/14 season, the first international competition, the Biathlon Alpine Cup, was held in Lenzerheide. In the years that followed, competitions were held as part of the IBU Junior Cup and the IBU Cup.
