No Lenzerheide Motor Classics 2021
The Lenzerheide Motor Classics from 11 to 13 June 2021 will not take place. For the second year in a row, the event falls victim to the measures to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. Instead, the organizers are planning a small-scale summer event in August 2021, as they did last year.
It would be the first major event to kick off the summer season in the Lenzerheide holiday region, when the historic racing and sports cars as well as motorbikes, sidecars and three-wheelers do their laps on the highest circuit in the world. Over 200 vehicles and motorbikes, as well as many visitors at the side of the track, have enjoyed the spectacle of the Lenzerheide Motor Classics in past years. This year, however, the accelerator pedals will remain untouched for the second year in a row. Based on the latest information and forecasts from the Federal Council, the organizers of the Lenzerheide Motor Classics are forced to cancel the planned event from 11 to 13 June 2021. The three-phase model for major events presented by the Federal Council gives too few rays of hope for holding the event. After consultation with the canton of Graubünden, due to the short lead time, holding the event as part of an accompanied pilot test for large events from June 2021 is not realistic.
Small summer festival instead of big crowd
The annual gathering of motor sport enthusiasts in Lenzerheide is not to be ruined by the cancellation of the Lenzerheide Motor Classics. Similar to last year, the organizers are planning a summer event on a smaller scale in August 2021. Drivers will receive further information directly from the organizing committee.
The next Lenzerheide Motor Classics will take place from 10 to 12 June 2022.
