Gymnastic Lessons with Elias Ambühl
Elias Ambühl was able to experience a lot of children laughing and great amazement in the week before last. During three days Elias visited together with the Arosa and Lenzerheide mountain railways four different schools in Graubünden as well as in the Rhine valley of St.Gallen. The aim of the campaign is to show children and young people the fun of winter sports and to arouse their interest in the Arosa Lenzerheide Freeski Camp.
School children aged between 10 and 16 had the honour of performing together with Elias. In preparation for the gymnastics lesson, Elias showed insights into his career and sport. During the gymnastics lesson the children practiced various dry exercises in preparation for the freeski sport. For example, a rail built with long benches for practicing balance and height. "It is a great honour for us to welcome Elias to our school. We very much appreciate the fact that mountain railways such as Arosa Lenzerheide and successful athletes are committed to winter sports and pick up schools and children with attractive offers that promote young talent," says Fredi Frei, a long-standing 5th grade teacher in Altstätten.
Kickers, Rails and Funtime
The Freeski Camp in Arosa Lenzerheide promises a lot of fun in the snow. Children learn cool tricks and jumps in the park from Elias himself. From a trial day to a four-day pro variant, there is the right package for every child. The camp will be held this winter for the eighth time and will take place from 22 to 25 February 2019. During four days Elias accompanies the children around the clock, practices tricks in the snow, participates together in the Wood Ranch session, goes sledding or on an Aftershred Trampolin jumping. A varied programme is offered to suit every personal ability of the child.
New ways for Elias
On 25 November 2018, Elias Ambühl announced to the public in the Sport Panorama that he was retiring from professional sport for the coming winter. But many exciting projects are already waiting for him. In addition to his ski lodge Sunna Bar in Tschappina, he will now also be commenting on freestyle sports at SRF.
