If Camille Balanche were a company, she would be a unicorn. She competed in her first downhill race in Leogang in 2018 and is the overall World Cup leader in 2022. In just four years, she has become Swiss Champion, European Champion and World Champion. Camille is making a name for herself as the best Swiss downhill export, and in a short space of time.
"Miss Consistency", as she is called by the commentators on Red Bull TV, has never had a fall in a race. She rides unspectacularly, cleanly and just fast. She claims that she is strategically superior to other athletes.
But now it has happened: Camille fell during World Cup training in Mount Saint Anne, Canada, and broke her collarbone. After a quick operation, she is now in a full rehabilitation programme and her ambition is driving her on again. Find out more about her physiotherapy in the podcast and especially about her plans for the upcoming World Cup in Les Gets (FR) and the final World Cup race in Val di Sole (IT).
