Excursion to the Lady's Slipper Orchids
On tomorrow's excursion, you will be led to the Lady's Slipper Orchids, a rare species of orchid that only blooms at this time of year and for a maximum of 14 days. You will also embark on a hike to the small Altein waterfall together. Listen to the exciting explanations from Beat Caduff, who grew up in Arosa and knows the nature very well. Afterwards, you will enjoy lunch together at the Restaurant Alpenblick.
The Lady's Slipper Orchids usually bloom between June and early July in Arosa. However, the exact blooming period depends heavily on the weather conditions and temperatures in spring. If the temperatures do not allow for a visit, a mountain flower excursion will be conducted instead.
The event is suitable for people aged 16 and over in good physical condition.
Hike (large old waterfall)
- Duration: 7 kilometres
- Ascent: 320 metres
- Descent: 320 metres
Good footwear (sturdy hiking boots above ankle height with a good profile), clothing suitable for the weather, sun or rain protection, sufficient drinks. If you wish, you can take your camera or, if available, binoculars with you.
