Waste

Recycling on the mountain - For a clean nature

Arosa Lenzerheide has been committed to sustainable mountain railway operations for years, especially on an ecological level. An intact nature is not only one of the most important tourism drivers, but also an essential supplier of resources. Together, we want to raise awareness among our service providers, partners and guests, set an example and expand the scope for action.

Waste

Recycling on the mountain

The waste on the mountain, which accumulates every day in winter and summer, is collected centrally and recycled and disposed of accordingly. The leftovers from the catering businesses, for example, are recycled as biomass. Furthermore, recycling bins are also available to our guests at the most important places to dispose of their waste properly.

Clean Up Days

For a clean nature

Unfortunately, when the snow melts in spring, it is not only the mountain meadows underneath that come to light. Year after year, large amounts of litter accumulate in the snow cover - from PET bottles and cigarette butts to ski poles and gloves. Together with the schools of the municipality of Arosa, the apprentices of SR Technics and other organizations, we collect the rubbish lying around along the ski slopes, mountain railway tracks, mountain restaurants and car parks.

Raising awareness on the issue of littering

Arosa Lenzerheide has been working with the Interessengemeinschaft saubere Umwelt (IGSU) on the subject of littering for several years. The IGSU sends a group of ambassadors to Arosa and Lenzerheide at least once a year to sensitise guests in the region to the issue of littering and to motivate them to dispose of their waste correctly.
