The Weisshorn Speed chairlift on the Rothorn/Urdenfürggli side of the valley will start daily summer operation on Saturday, 17 July 2021, significantly expanding the range of services for hikers and bikers on the Rothorn.

Completely renewed
Now that the mountain railways on Piz Scalottas, Heidbüel and Rothorn are already in daily operation, the Weisshorn Speed chairlift will also be ready for the start of the 2021 summer season on Saturday, 17 July 2021. This is after the lift has been completely renovated in recent weeks.

State-of-the-art technology
In addition to a total of 76 new chairs with bonnets, 38 separate bike transport vehicles were also purchased for summer operation. Together with the innovative comfort control system for stress-free mounting and dismounting of the bikes, the Weisshorn Speed chairlift is now state-of-the-art.

Comfortably and stress-free up the mountain by bike
With the separate bike vehicles, four bikes can be transported at the same time. Thanks to the slowed-down speed at the valley station and the practical clip system, hanging up the bikes is particularly convenient. The bikers enjoy the panoramic ride up the mountain in the comfortable 6-seater chair directly behind their carbon and aluminium horses. Once at the top, the innovative comfort control system stops the front bike vehicle completely and allows bikers to unload their bikes safely and stress-free.

With the opening of the Weisshorn Speed chairlift, the trail offer in the Bike Kingdom is expanded to include the extremely attractive trails in the «Red Peak» area. Special highlight: The Great White! Just in time before the first snowfall in autumn 2020, this latest trail showpiece was completed in the rocky desert around the Weisshorn. From the Weisshorn Speed chairlift, the black enduro trail winds its way through stone fields and, thanks to tables and step-downs, invites you to take flying lessons on your bike.

Even more comfortable on foot to Arosa
However, the summer operation of the Weisshorn Speed does not only make bikers' hearts beat faster. Thanks to the option of ascending or descending, the chairlift between the Parpaner Rothorn and the Urdenfürggli ideally complements the hiking area of Arosa Lenzerheide. The distance to the Urdenbahn aerial tramway and thus the hiking area of Arosa is significantly shortened - in both directions. For the first time this summer, the Motta Hut is also open in good weather.
