Information about the Hörnli Express (IMPORTANT)
During a routine inspection, our experts discovered that a component of the Hörnli Express gondola lift needs to be replaced. The lift will therefore be out of service from 19 to 24 December 2025. Due to this situation, the following temporary operating hours will apply to ensure a better distribution of guests:

  • 08:20: SB Tschuggen Ost, LAW 1 and Brüggerhorn
  • 08:30: SB Carmenna, SB Plattenhorn and LAW 2
  • 08:45: SB Hörnli

Good to know for your day in the snow sports area:

  • There is no transport option for pedestrians from Arosa to Hörnli or via Urdenbahn towards Lenzerheide.
  • Pedestrians can reach Hörnli via Lenzerheide (SB Heimberg, SB Motta, SB Urdenfürggli and Urdenbahn) and back again.
  • Snow sports enthusiasts can still reach the Hörnli area and Lenzerheide via the Carmenna, Plattenhorn and Hörnli chairlifts.
  • The Hörnli hut is open as normal.
  • The public toilets at the Hörnli mountain station remain closed as the passageway is closed for safety reasons.

👉 Our recommendation: Use the Tschuggen Ost chairlift, Arosa-Weisshorn 1st section cable car or the Kulm gondola lift in Innerarosa to reach the ski area.

Further important information for your stay
At the following boarding points, the return journey to the valley is only possible by mountain railway, as there is no downhill run available:

  • Tgantieni chairlift
  • Heidbüel panoramic cable car
  • Rothorn 1 gondola lift
  • Arosa-Weisshorn 1st section aerial cable car
  • Tschuggen Ost chairlift (descent with Arosa-Weisshorn 1st section aerial cable car)

The following facilities are only open to pedestrians (no transport of skis or snowboards):

  • Scalottas chairlift
  • Rothorn 2 cable car

The Heimberg valley station can only be reached via the Schluocht piste (no. 28a). Due to high traffic, we recommend that less experienced skiers use the Rothorn 1 gondola lift (via the Scharmoin ski lift) for the return journey. From the Rothorn valley station, you can take the PostBus to Parpan. Most ski tickets include use of the PostBus on this route (Public Transport Offers | Arosa Lenzerheide).
