Eröffnungswochenende Viadukt Museum Langwies
111 Years of Langwies Viaduct:
Grand Opening of the Viaduct Museum Langwies
Just in time for the 111th anniversary of the Langwies Viaduct, a new museum is being opened in the village of Langwies. With the viaduct – at the time of its construction the largest and longest-spanning reinforced concrete railway bridge in the world – Langwies has an architectural landmark of international significance. For the Viaduct Museum, instead of a single museum building, several historically significant spaces near the station will be repurposed. This will create a multifaceted museum with various stations, where the history of the Langwies Viaduct will be illuminated from different perspectives and made accessible to locals and guests alike.
In the lead-up to the opening weekend, content will be published daily on Instagram. Under the Instagram handle @viaduktmuseumlangwies 111 posts featuring facts about the viaduct and the museum will be released to celebrate the 111th anniversary. Follow the channel to not miss anything!
During the opening weekend, entry to the museum is free, but we appreciate contributions to the museum collection.

The Viaduct Museum Langwies is located at the Langwies train station. We recommend arriving by train. Train connections can be viewed at www.rhb.ch. With the Arosa Card, the train ride between Lüen/Castiel–Langwies, respectively Arosa–Langwies is free. For those arriving by car, parking options in Langwies are limited (the beginning and end of the village, the parking spaces are signposted). For the opening weekend from July 12 to 13, 2025, we recommend parking the car in Peist or Arosa and then taking the train to Langwies.
On both days from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM with gastronomy offerings and musical performances.
On Saturday, a special opening program is planned with speeches, competitions, games, tours, and exciting surprises.
