[tʃlˈfɪk]. Lecture on witch persecutions in Graubünden

In the footsteps of sound: Learn more about the cultural history in the Schanfigg and immerse yourself in the sound world of the valley. As part of the major project “[tʃlˈfɪk]: Resonant cultural history in the Schanfigg,” various sound installations and objects will be discovered in different villages in the Schanfigg during the summer months starting in 2024. The approximately 15 resonant installations make the cultural history of the Schanfigg tangible on both sides of the valley.

In connection with the sound installation “ZeterMordio” in Castiel, which enhances the tense atmosphere between life and death as well as judgment and being judged through its crank-operated listening station, an intriguing lecture on the topic “Witch Persecution and Trials in Graubünden” will take place on Thursday, June 19, 2025, by cultural scientist and author Dr. Antonia Bertschinger. She is conducting research at the Institute for Cultural Research Graubünden and will present new research results. The two artists Sonja Rüegg and Kathrin Raimann will be present and provide insights into the background of their sound installation “ZeterMordio.”

For more information about the sound installation, visit arosa.swiss/klingend or the Muva App (muva-app.ch).

Free admission, collection.
