Arosa Lenzerheide is nominated for the Swiss Mountain Award with «LIGHT RIDE».

Every two years, the industry organization «Seilbahnen Schweiz» presents the Swiss Mountain Award, the Swiss mountain railway innovation prize. The rate is awarded in recognition of outstanding individual and group performance within the Swiss mountain railway industry. Arosa Lenzerheide, together with the art and design collective NOA, is one of the three nominated projects this year with the multi-sensory night sledding experience «LIGHT RIDE» launched in December 2020.

With the public award competition, Seilbahnen Schweiz recognizes achievements and products that have a positive impact on the development of the industry in particular and, secondarily, on its image and continuously promote an incentive for innovation within the Swiss mountain railway industry.

Together with NOA, Lenzerheide Bergbahnen AG has hit the nail on the head for guests and the jury with «LIGHT RIDE». «LIGHT RIDE» is the new night sledging experience and not for the faint-hearted. Multisensory light installations and music accompany guests on the sometimes rough ride towards the valley. First, dark passages have to be mastered before waves and hollows challenge the skills of each individual. Finally, all guests try to break the speed record. The «LIGHT RIDE» is located on the lower part of the Scharmoin-Canols sledge run on the Lenzerheide side and can be reached by taking the Rothorn 1 gondola lift.

In addition to "LIGHT RIDE", the jury of experts nominated the turbine project of Technoalpin Schweiz and Davos Klosters Bergbahnen AG as well as the V-Bahn project of Jungfraubahnen Management AG.

The three projects will be presented on Tuesday, 19 October 2021 at the Swiss Cableways Forum in Le Châble, after which the winner will receive an award.
