Tips from an Arosa Cross-Country Skiing Legend

«The practice area in Maran is probably the most beautiful of all Alpine cross-country skiing tracks. It is slightly facing north so that the snow is in perfect condition and yet the sunshine reaches the tracks all day long. On top of it the unbelievably beautiful view on the surrounding mountains makes the practice area simply incomparable. A perfect setting for beginners!»

«The Isel is the fridge of Arosa and always offers the best snow conditions. The flat area is ideal for skating and provides the perfect training environment for the Engadiner Ski Marathon. In December and January the sun reaches the areas from 11.00am to 2.00pm, short but intense!»

«For a more physical and technical cross-country workout we recommend the Prätschalp track. On eight kilomentres you can expect a challenging session with a stunning view on an amazing landscape. »

«This sunny track spoils all senses. It is located in the «hollow of the knee» of the Schanfigg valley and presents a view over the whole Plessur area all the way to Calanda, the Ringelspitze and the Sardonamassiv. A bench invites to linger and enjoy.»

«The flat panoramic cross-country track provides an outlook on the Arosa Train which meanders along the Schanfigg. At the far end one can even see Chur, Calanda and Tödi.»
