Premiere at Arosa Bear Sanctuary

Old News

Amelia and Meimo entered the outdoor enclosure on this sunny morning with the intention of looking for food. They immediately noticed that two other animals were foraging in the same enclosure. However, according to the local responsible persons, the situation proceeded in a bear-typical manner. "Since the ranking is already clear, the dominant animals have moved on and the sub-dominant animals have kept their individual distance," Hans Schmid explains the situation at the Arosa Bear Sanctuary. The bears are thus once again naturally challenged and learn to behave in a manner appropriate to their species. Schmid assumes that the next days and weeks will also be "civilised". The next steps in the bears' learning process will certainly be exciting, as they divide up the patrol area in the three-hectare enclosure among themselves.
