10 years of the Magic Forest Lenzerheide
Now in its tenth year, the Lenzerheide Magic Forest continues to enchant its visitors with a combination of fascinating light art, top-class concerts and fine cuisine.
Musical experiences in a unique natural setting
Few artists have shaped the Swiss music market in the past 15 years as much as the Zurich dialect artist Bligg. He opens on 15 December with a Christmas show specially curated for the Magic Forest – there's no better way to start the Christmas season. On 17 December, Magic Forest visitors will rap along to hits like «Für 1 hets immer no glangt» or «Gimmar as Mic» when Breitbild takes the stage – a rare treat, as the Chur rap crew only gives a few selected concerts. Right from the start, Tim Bendzko has found a language with his music and his words that is unparalleled – honest and direct. The true Berliner will visit the Magic Forest on 19 December. Anna Rossinelli and Crimer play on Christmas Day. In cooperation with the foundation «Denk an mich», Crimer's concert on 26 December will be translated into sign language and performed simultaneously on stage. The concert and the unique performance of the Swiss musician will thus be made accessible to even more visitors. On 27 December, the incomparable Gipsy Kings will enter the Zauberwald stage. Marc Sway doesn't just play concerts, he celebrates – this will be an unforgettable evening on 29 December in the Magic Forest. We welcome the New Year with Latin pop hits by Locco Escrito on 2 January. And the Grisons boys from 77 Bombay Street will rock the stage in a home game on 3 January.
The complete programme is available at zauberwald.ch.
Experiences for young and old
Families with children can also enjoy the Magic Forest in all its diversity. The light installations touch all generations and amaze visitors. The Childrens programme, presented together with Coop as Kids Partner, invites you to join in, sing along and laugh: Andrew Bond, Laurent & Max, Linard Bardill, Aunt Carmen, Professor Bummbastic, the magic socks and many others will enchant the children with wonderful stories and funny songs.
A magically staged Magic Forest
The light installations curated by the creative collective NOA (No Ordinary Art) come from artists from all over Europe. There will be 17 new, surprising works of art along the circular route. Depending on how long you stay, the route takes 30 to 45 minutes. Visitors will discover the dream dancers from the Vaz/Obervaz school, marvel at the glowing dandelions whizzing by and be enchanted by the floating candles above the Classic Corner.
Classic Corner – enchanting classical music
In the snowy winter atmosphere of the Lenzerheide Magic Forest, classical music is a special experience for all the senses. On a circular stage, placed in the middle of the forest under the open sky, visitors experience a unique symbiosis of music and nature. Once again this year, the Graubünden soprano Nora Bertogg has taken over the artistic direction and put together an exceptionally varied programme. The Magic Forest will be visited by artists of the highest musical calibre, who will contribute to this unusual concert format in the Lenzerheide Magic Forest with an open mind and a love of experimentation.
