For the 37th time, around 400 cross-country skiers will venture through the Lenzerheide holiday region in the Planoiras Folk Cross-Country Skiing Race on Sunday, 16 January 2022. In addition to the «real» Planoiras Folk Cross-Country Skiing Race, in 2022 there will also be the opportunity to complete the Planoiras in a digital form.

The Planoiras Folk Cross-Country Skiing Race has been an integral part of the event calendar in the Lenzerheide holiday region for years. It is a classic that is one of the finest popular runs in Switzerland. This year, too, it is part of the Swiss Loppet Series and, after the «Attraverso Campra» a week earlier, is the second of a total of eleven races - for both connoisseurs and competitors. The 25-kilometre course leads from the Roland Arena in Lantsch/Lenz first over a section of the Tour de Ski course and then to Lenzerheide and Parpan and back to the Luziuswiese in Lenzerheide. The shorter, approximately 12-kilometre-long Planoirino route already turns at Canols and also returns to the Luziuswiese in Lenzerheide.

Decision at the end again?
In the last two editions, the decision was made at the end. In 2019 and 2020, Ilya Chernousov prevailed over his opponents in the men's race. Two years ago, Seraina Kaufmann (Ftan), who belongs to SSC Rätia Chur, won the women's race. At the moment it is still open which prominent Swiss runners will be at the start. The first part of the Swiss Championships will also take place on the same day in Sparenmoos. Online registration is still open until Friday, 14 January 2022, at 12.00 pm. Late registrations are possible at the race office until 1 hour before the start.

Planoiras Youth Run - for the stars of tomorrow
Somewhat extraordinarily, this time the 25th Planoiras Youth Run will take place a week earlier on Saturday, 8 January 2022 (start at 10.00 am., skating single start). The distance is 1.2 to 9.5 kilometres, depending on age. The registration deadline is Wednesday, 5 January 2022. The 6th hejaheja snowshoeing and cross-country race, the race for athletes with a disability, will also take place as part of the youth race. Children and adults between the ages of 8 and 20 are eligible to start.

Digital version of the Planoiras Folk Cross-Country Skiing Race
In addition to the "real" Planoiras Folk Cross-Country Skiing Race, there will also be a digital version of the race in 2022. Start and finish are at the Roland Arena in Lantsch/Lenz at the trail pass control. You can choose between the «Planoiras» (23.5km - two laps) or the «Planoirino» (12km - one lap). The route is extremely varied and offers flat sections as well as gentle climbs. Idyllically situated, this course offers smaller forest sections and generously groomed areas, such as at the golf course. Registration is possible from 3 January 2022. It is free of charge and must be completed by 15 January 2022 at the latest. Afterwards, the digital Planoiras will be deactivated.
