Lenzerheide magic forest lets classical music flourish
The magical Lenzerheide forest stages light art, musical experiences and culinary delights in the midst of a wintry mountain world - a fascination for all the senses that captivates young and old, young and old alike. In addition to the already well-known concerts on the stage of the Lenzerheide magic forest in the centre of the festival, this year there is a new Classic Corner with a light installation, where visitors can experience concerts with top-class classical music.
It won't be long before the lights go on in the Lenzerheide magic forest. From 13 to 30 December 2019, for the seventh time in a row, exceptional light installations will be on display and a variety of music concerts will be held. During this year's edition, visitors will be surprised by an additional highlight: the Classic Corner. This is a unique combination of light art and music.
"We are presenting classical music in a place where probably few people expect it," says Giancarlo Pallioppi, OC President of the Lenzerheide Magic Forest, on the idea of the Classic Corner. "Classical music, light art and nature in a unique symbiosis - this has probably never happened before in winter", adds co-initiator Primo Berrera.
"guerillaclassics" is the name of the association that makes classical music accessible to a young, heterogeneous audience with high-quality performances. In collaboration with the Lenzerheide magic forest, this idea is now also becoming reality in Graubünden. Out of the concert halls and among the people - that's the motto. Various musicians from the "guerillaclassics" artist pool will perform in the Lenzerheide magic forest - including pianist Mischa Cheung from Zurich. "I was literally enchanted when I first experienced Mischa at the piano and he sent me directly on a wonderful journey with his music," enthuses Pallioppi.
