Jessie & the Gents
Jessie & the Gents was only founded in 2017. Actually, they wanted to take everything slowly, but have now landed on the country-acoustic racetrack at a stretched gallop. The quintet of mandolin Jessie Hardegger, guitar Rick Noorlander, bass Geri Zumbrunn, dobro Putzie Mayr and fiddle Rainer Hagmann – becomes a real listening pleasure with the lead vocals of Jessie and Rick.
In autumn 2017, their debut album 'On the rise' was released.
They won the Swiss Country Music Award in May 2018, as well as the winner award for their song 'I ain't gonna ride with you'.
The joy and fire of this acoustic crew is clearly reflected in the music! Back to the basics – is the motto. Simple, but on a high level, they play their own compositions as well as songs from Alison Krauss to Norah Jones with a lot of passion.
With their second album 'Walkin' those boots', which was released in 2019, Jessie & the Gents toured through Alberta, Canada and took part in Canada's biggest bluegrass festival, the 'Blueberry Bluegrass Festival'.
