In just a few days' time, the world's best ski racers will be racing down the Silvano Beltrametti World Cup course on the Heimberg in Parpan. Lenzerheide will be the venue for the Audi FIS Ski World Cup Final for the sixth time from 17 to 21 March 2021. Thanks to TV broadcasting and social media, ski fans can experience skiing fever in their homes - despite the ban on spectators on site.

It should have been the great and world-famous season finale with thousands of fans on site, just as they are used to in Lenzerheide. But there is nothing of that now. The Corona pandemic has not stopped at the Ski World Cup in the 2020/21 season. Nevertheless, the organizers are looking forward to the last five race days of the season and preparations are in full swing.

Covid-19 sets the pace
Instead of a large spectator stand at the finish with a lot of supporting programme and parties, the focus of the event this year is solely on holding Corona-compliant World Cup races without spectators.

World Cup races on TV and side stories on social media
Although no spectators are allowed at the World Cup races, ski fans do not have to completely do without the usual ski spectacle in Lenzerheide. Various TV stations will broadcast the races of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup Final on free TV directly into your own four walls. In addition, the social media team of the final will provide exciting insights behind the scenes on various channels such as Facebook or Instagram.

Specially created TV format for the finals
Snowshow TV is the name of a format created especially for the final, which will be broadcast on digital platforms during the race week. Fabio Nay (former radio presenter at SRF 3) is the producer and presenter of the World Cup's own TV. A total of 15 episodes will be filmed during the finals and then broadcast on the social media channels of the Lenzerheide holiday region. Nay will act as a flying reporter, bringing to interesting stories about the World Cup that viewers would probably not hear at «normal» finals.

Fan video on the screen in the finish area
As in Adelboden, the athletes in Lenzerheide can also count on the support of their fans, thanks to the Swisscom fan screen in the finish area. Ski fans can record a fan video at home and upload it to the Swisscom portal at ski-fan.ch. With a bit of luck, you might even see your submitted video live on TV. In this way, Swisscom is making it possible for ski fans from all over the world to be there when their idols cross the finish line, despite the current pandemic.

Restrictions in the snow sports area and traffic obstructions
During the race week from 15 to 21 March 2021, the Heimberg, Motta and Urdenfürggli chairlifts and the Urdenbahn aerial tramway (Arosa Lenzerheide connection) will be partially closed or have limited availability. There will also be restrictions on the parking spaces for winter sports enthusiasts. The Heimberg, Proschieri and Obertor car parks will be reserved for the World Cup troop. In addition, during the event, possible waiting times in both directions are to be expected on the main road between Chur and Lantsch/Lenz due to the higher traffic volume.
