Restrictions during IBU Youth & Junior World Championships Biathlon

From 23 January to 2 February, the best young athletes from all over the world will compete for the first time at the Biathlon Youth and Junior World Championships in Lenzerheide. During the event days, the following restrictions in tourist operations are to be expected:

Road closure
Partial closure of the Voa Principala - section UBS to Kurhaus (junction parish hall) on Saturday, 25 January 2020 from 06.45 to 08.00 pm (opening ceremony)

Postbus
During the closure of the Voa Principala, the Postbus stop Lenzerheide Post will not be served. The bus stop will be temporarily moved to the village entrance (in front of hotel Danis). The following Postbuses must use the bypass and will stop at the temporary Post bus stop:

  • Course 18291 Chur - Lenzerheide with arrival Lenzerheide Post at 07.09 pm (without continuation)
  • Course 18293 Chur - Vazerol with arrival Lenzerheide Post at 07.34 pm and continuation towards Vazerol at 07.34 pm
  • Course 18284 Bivio - Chur with arrival Lenzerheide Post at 07.18 pm and departure at 07.23 pm

* If the course 18289 or the course 18282 is delayed and arrives in Lenzerheide after 07.00 pm, it must also be rerouted. 

Closing of the parking area at hotel Kurhaus

  • Saturday, 25 January 2020 from 06.00 to 10.00 pm (opening ceremony)
  • Wednesday, 29 January 2020 from 06.00 to 10.00 pm (medal ceremony of previous competitions)
  • Saturday, 1 February 2020 from 06.00 to 10.00 pm (medal ceremony of previous competitions)

Cross-country skiing trails
The competition routes only affect the tracks around the Biathlon Arena. The tracks from St. Cassian to Capfeders including the golf course are freely accessible without further restrictions.
The night tracks are accessible from 5 to 9 pm as usual.

Biathlon Arena facility

  • 13 to 23 January 2020: restricted operation 
  • 24 January to 2 February 2020: complete closure

Restaurant Bualino 
Restaurant Bualino will be closed from 25 January to 2 February 2020. During this time, visitors will be able to eat at the food stands in the village of the event area.
