Snowfactory snow-making system
At the Biathlon Arena Lenzerheide will be produced again "snow", since 24 September 2018.
In contrast to classic snow guns, the so-called "Snowfactory" enables production even at plus degrees. The principle of the Snowfactory is simple: using advanced cooling technology, the water is cooled to freezing point in a heat exchanger. The water thus freezes due to the cold produced, without chemical additives. This does not produce snow in the true sense, but small dry ice flakes. The quality of firn snow is achieved by the subsequent mechanical cross-country ski trail preparation.
