Waldhaus, Post, Valbella Inn & holiday and storage houses in the middle of it all
After the damming in 1882, the Heidsee attracted all kinds of people: Chur citizens, writers (Thomas Mann), artists (Hanna Kiel, Annemarie Schwarzenbach), theologians (Leonhard Ragaz), women's activists (Clara Ragaz, Gertrud Rüegg) and playboys. They erected summer villas, built hotels, founded holiday colonies, ran the Casoja adult education centre and indulged in dolce far niente. Get to know the Val Bella and its fleeting guests.
