Storytelling coffee with Marco Giacometti
From July 2024, the Museum Vaz/Obervaz will be showing works by the artists Giovanni, Augusto, Alberto and Diego Giacometti.
The exhibition in the Sala Parpan will shed light on the astonishingly diverse work of the four related artists from two generations: Giovanni Giacometti (1868-1933), a post-impressionist who wanted to pass on his own impressions to the viewer of his paintings, Augusto Giacometti (1877-1947), who came from symbolism and Japonism to non-objectivity at an incredibly early age, Alberto Giacometti (1901-1966), who, starting from drawing, arrived at the gaunt depiction of human transience, through to Diego Giacometti's (1902-1985) ornately decorated, elegant pieces of furniture.
