On 28/29 December 2019, the cross-country skiing elite will meet again for the opening of the Coop FIS Tour de Ski performance by Le Gruyère AOP 2019/20 in Lenzerheide. The programme includes a mass start and sprint races in free technique. The opening ceremony will take place on 27 December for the first time in the Lenzerheide magic forest. The fusion of sport and culture promises an unforgettable opening ceremony.
The event area is located around the Biathlon Arena. In addition to the stadium and the racing tracks, the Tour de Ski village on the parking of Biathlon Arena (incl. restaurant and new Activity Zone) invites you to linger.
Below is a list of the restrictions for touristic operation during the event days:
- Restrictions for winter hikers: The winter hiking trails leading through the event grounds can only be used with a valid ticket. Otherwise you have to take the road.
- Restrictions on cross-country skiing trails around Biathlon Arena: The public cross-country skiing tracks around Biathlon Arena are completely closed from 27 to 29 December 2019. From 18 to 26 December 2019 and on 30 December 2019 there may be minor restrictions due to construction and dismantling work can be possible.
- Parking restrictions: The Foppa/Biahtlon Arena parking will be closed to guess from 26 December 2019. For guest, a spare parking place will be installed in the area of St. Cassian for the days before the event. From 28 December, the event signposting will apply (blue parking signs for event visitors) and there will be no parking spaces available for cross-country skiers.
- Restrictions around Nordic House: From 27 to 29 December 2019, the entire Nordic House will be completely closed for public use. Admission only possible with accreditation.
Please note: the sport shop at Nordic House will stay open.
