Cross-Country Skiing Prätschalp

Challenging cross-country circuit in the heart of the mountain panorama Arosa with a view of the unspoilt Schanfigg valley. Particularly idyllic: the Prätschalp and the Prätschsee on the partly wooded high plateau.

On one of the highest 18-hole golf courses in Europe, where caddies do their rounds in summer, cross-country skiers make their tracks in winter. After a leisurely start over an extensive, treeless flat section, a short, steep descent towards Schafwald awaits. Afterwards, the trail again leads flat through the Seebachtobel. This is followed by a longer ascent towards Prätschalp. The trail first passes close to the Langwieser Aussicht. Langwies with its famous viaduct, the Mattjisch Horn and the Sapün and Fondei side valleys can be admired here. Shortly before Prätschalp, the highest point of the trail is reached at just under 1970 metres. Here the cross-country skiers enjoy a view over the Schanfigg valley with its rustic Walser houses. So it's worth taking a break before descending to the Lower Prätschsee. From the lake it is less than two kilometres to the finish.
