Hörnli hut

Built 1923 by the Skiclub Arosa on the highest point of the Mountain, the Hörnli hut is still sitting enthroned today on this beautiful viewpoint. Treat yourself to a delicious refreshment and enjoy the glorious view of the mountain scenery.

Thanks to its location and special characteristics, the area near the Hörnli was discovered and used for skiing early on. Since in the age before mountain railways and ski lifts, people were dependent on suitable accommodation in the touring areas, the Arosa Ski Club decided in July 1923 to build a ski hut on the highest point of the Hörnli ridge. This was built entirely by 50 club members and was inaugurated on 9 December 1923. The Hörnli hut was open to the public from the beginning, as it still is today in summer and winter. Various extensions and conversions, especially in 1937, 1962 and 2004, have turned the Hörnlihütte into an imposing restaurant with overnight accommodation also for non-club members. Still one of the top addresses for a tasty snack on your ski day.
