Kirche St. Johannes Baptista in Muldain

This church is probably the first baroque church built in Obervaz at the time of the Counter-Reformation by the Capuchin Fathers.

Artistic stuccowork, numerous paintings and the splendidly carved pulpit characterise the daughter church in Muldain, built around 1673 to 1677, which is one of the most impressive buildings of the Grisons Baroque. The church was completely renovated in 1988. The steeple, church roof and porch were uniformly covered with hand-split larch wood shingles. The materials on the impressive, once completely painted roof lining of the open vestibule, which had weathered down to meagre remains, were renovated with restraint.
